Trude Sundset new CEO of Gassnova
Effective today, the Board of Gassnova – the Norwegian state's CCS enterprise – has appointed Trude Sundset as its new CEO.
Trude Sundset has a Master of Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now the Norwegian University of Science and Technology) in Trondheim. She has broad-based industrial experience and an extensive career as a researcher within climate and environmental issues related to the oil and gas sector. Among other things, Sundset has served as the director of environment and climate in the merged company StatoilHydro and later headed Statoil ASA's international work on environmental and climate issues. Sundset is now coming from a position as project manager in Statoil ASA.
"The Board is very pleased with the appointment of Trude Sundset as new CEO of Gassnova. She has a highly relevant technical background, good knowledge of Gassnova's industrial partners and has shown a strong interest in climate and environmental issues. She therefore has the best qualifications for solving the important challenges and tasks that Gassnova is currently facing," says chair of the Board Einar Steensnæs.
"I am grateful that the board has entrusted me with this position. I look forward to managing Gassnova's important work on continuing development of CCS technologies that contribute to reduced costs and risks for the industry. We must reduce greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible in order to prevent dramatic climate change," says Sundset.
Trude Sundset will take up her position at the beginning of 2016.
