  Edit: February 2018
The full-scale project will be conducted in accordance with good industrial practice. An industrial project typically goes through different phases, from an idea occurring through to the project being fully built and ready for start-up.

The figure above shows a typical industrial project flow.

The full-scale project has conducted idea and feasibility studies, as well as concept studies of CO2 capture  and transport.

Concept studies of CO₂ storage are ongoing and will be completed in the summer of 2018. The next phase for the project are the FEED studies. These studies are scheduled to commence in the summer of 2018. This is the last part of the planning phase.

After the FEED phase, the basis for an investment decision will be presented to the Norwegian Parliament "the Storting". If the Storting and the companies make a positive investment decision, the project will start construction.
