A full-scale CO2-management project will provide lessons and experiences that new CCS projects can take advantage of, through lower risk and better solutions.

Real-world experiences also provide more targeted research and stimulate the market which in turn can provide better and more affordable technical solutions. Efforts to actively share and disseminate such lessons are systematised through the work of realising gains.

Parts of the infrastructure established in relation to the full-scale project will have surplus capacity. This means, for example, that the store can accept more CO2 than the amount that the first project generates. Sharing the infrastructure that the project will establishcan help to ensure that the next projects can be considerably more affordable.
